Introduction to Tosi
Note: This Gitbook is a work in progress and not final.
Tosi is a blockchain that connects Web3 to real-world assets and changes the way we can fight climate change.
Marketplaces, asset issuance platforms and other parties can use Tosi to issue assets which are verifiable, traceable and transparent, helping them to build trust with their audiences.
For example, Tosi is currently used to:
Issue carbon assets on Tosi blockchain and connect them with the official carbon credit certification registry. With Tosi, carbon asset buyers can check if the assets they plan to purchase are issued by the original verified issuer, if the certification document is signed by the correct certification agency, and if the satellite data matches with the dates and location of the carbon asset project.
Issue NFTs which represent real gold bars and connect them with the asset registry of the custodian holding the physical gold bars. With Tosi, gold buyers can check if the NFT asset they plan to purchase is issued by the original verified issuer, if the asset is in the same blockchain as the asset being purchased, and if the linked contracts and other documents are same as in the asset registry.
Tosi's key features include:
Easy asset issuance and verification for asset issuers and marketplaces through APIs and dashboard
Flexible to issue and verify nearly any type of asset and bridge them to other blockchains
Decentralized and reliable verification through a node network
Low cost even for large-scale verifications with the use of datachains and off-chain computing
Readable verification results via TosiScan
Importantly, Tosi’s usage is linked with making a crucial climate impact. The more nodes and asset issuers verify assets and stake TOSI, the more trees Tosi plants. Reforestation makes Tosi the world’s first climate-positive blockchain and also works as a sustainable earning model. Tosi's mission is to plant five billion trees.
